IT security for law firms and professional practices
Law firms, engineering and design practices, financial advisors and consultants. Different work, same problem: clients trust you with information that has to stay confidential, and insurers want proof that it does.
What we see at professional firms
Law firms
Real estate closings and settlement payments are prime targets for wire fraud. Mailbox takeover detection and DMARC make the fake "updated banking details" email much harder to pull off.
Engineering and design
Large project files, local file servers and CAD workstations. Image backups stored in Canada mean a failed server is an inconvenience, not a lost project.
Financial advisors
Client portfolios and identity documents sit in email and file shares. Regulators and dealers expect controls you can describe and evidence.
Consultants and agencies
Lean teams, lots of cloud tools, and client data spread across them. One security stack that covers every account and device.
Confidentiality obligations
Your professional rules expect you to protect client information, including when it lives in the cloud. We document what's in place so you can show it.
Hybrid work
Firm laptops are protected the same way at home as in the office, and every account is watched for takeover wherever it signs in.
What most firms like yours run
- Protect Essentials on every computer and server
- Protect Identity on every mailbox
- Protect Domain on each domain
- Protect Recover if you have a server
Questions professional firms ask
Which kinds of firms do you work with?
Law firms, engineering and design practices, financial advisors and wealth managers, consultants, and other professional offices with 5 to 100 staff. What they share is client information that has to stay confidential.
Can you work alongside our practice-management or document software vendor?
Yes. We look after the computers, servers, accounts and backups. Application issues go to the vendor, and we coordinate with them so you aren't stuck in the middle.
We have staff working from home. Is that covered?
Firm-owned laptops are covered wherever they are. Protect Essentials and Protect Identity work the same in the office, at home or on the road. Office DNS filtering applies only on networks we manage.
Do you sign confidentiality agreements?
Confidentiality is built into our Master Services Agreement, which every client accepts. If your firm needs its own agreement as well, we'll review it.
Ready when your firm is.
Tell us about your firm and what your insurer is asking for. Every request is reviewed by our team, usually within one business day.
