Privacy policy

KD Technical Services Inc. ("KDTS", "we") is a British Columbia company. British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) governs how we handle personal information. This policy explains what this website collects and why. Information we handle while providing services to clients is covered by section 9 of our Master Services Agreement.

What we collect

When you request a quote

Your name, role, work email address, firm name and website, staff count, type of firm, email platform, province, insurance renewal date, the services you're interested in, and anything you write in the message box. We also receive the country your request came from and use your IP address once, to check that the request came from a person and not a bot.

When you ask for an insurance policy review

The documents you email us, such as your policy wording and application. We keep them confidential and use them only to prepare your review.

When you use the email domain check

The domain name you enter, which we look up in public DNS. We don't store the domains you check.

When you browse

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits in aggregate. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites. This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the site, may set strictly necessary security cookies to tell people from bots.

How we use it

• To reply to your request, assess whether we're a good fit, and prepare quotes and reviews
• To protect the website from spam and abuse
• To keep business records

We don't sell personal information, and we don't add you to a mailing list without your permission.

Service providers and where data goes

We use a small number of providers to run this website and our business:

• Cloudflare hosts the website, filters attacks and provides the bot check on our forms.
• Zapier delivers form submissions to our email.
• Google Workspace is our email and document system.

These providers may process information in the United States or elsewhere outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of those countries.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and review documents for as long as we need them to respond to you and for our business records. If you'd like us to delete your information and we're not required to keep it, ask and we will.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to being contacted. Email privacy@kdts.ca. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
